Microsoft Authenticator on the App Store
I was very happy with Authenticator until I read about the new wave of phones being stolen after acquiring the iPhone’s passcode such as shoulder surfing. App Lock in settings uses Face ID which is fine, but defaults back to the iPhone passcode if Face ID fails. Worse still is that Authenticator has all your website passwords for any Microsoft account that has been setup in the app. If you have multiple Microsoft accounts the app allows you to switch the account used to sync the passwords without requiring any re-authentication. Most apps that take security serious do not allow this to happen. Instead, they require app specific authentication on Face ID failure.

Transfer your Google Authenticator codes
Which makes you wonder what the hell is the point in having files saved to iCloud. You can barely call anything, files, 2FA apps, et cetera et cetera any safer than an old school floppy drive. Authenticator can issue codes for multiple accounts from the same mobile device.

I also find it scary how there’s bots trying to constantly hack accounts, and I wish things would be safer online. But that’s what happened, despite keeping it all updated. Google Authenticator 6.0 on Android and 4.0 on iOS introduces the option to keep all your verification codes synchronized across all your devices, simply by signing into your Google Account. If you’re signed in to their Google Account within Google Authenticator, your codes will automatically be backed up and restored on any new device you use. If you set up 2-Step Verification, you can use the Google <--more--> to generate codes. You can still generate codes without internet connection or mobile service.

Alternative Authenticators such as Authy and 2FAS prevent this from happening as do banking apps. Is it right that Microsoft is not willing to protect your information beyond relying on Apple’s security. I think they even used the Authenticator against me to have easier access to my account even when I changed the password, I don’t know for sure though.

In many ways I love this app; everything just works… except that for some bonkers reason you have removed the ability to sort wishlists. All of my family add priorities to wishlists, particularly before Christmas and birthdays. Many items on our lists are simply notes to self, household bits and pieces, etc, which we may or may not return to. People we invite to the iphone thermometer indoor app lists have to be able to see these items, and only these, not the miscellaneous other stuff. The removal of our ability to actually view these priorities easily has ruined the whole point of using lists for gift purchases, and caused much frustration. Enjoy our latest update where we fixed some bugs and improved our app to give you a seamless shopping experience.
